After years of travelling and working as a global Senior Executive I accepted a redundancy and took the chance to stop and breathe for a few months and spend some time at home.

It wasn't long before I realised that I didn't want to work for anyone else again; I wanted to be in control of my future and decide what the lead-up to retirement or semi-retirement would look like for me.  And the "entrepreneurial spark" came back and the ideas started rolling in.

Prior to my last role I had run a Sales Coaching and Training business in Sydney for over 10 years and I knew I  wanted the freedom to work for myself again I just wasn't sure what that might be. Until……

After years of living in suburban Brisbane, my husband and I craved more space with air to breathe and were lucky enough to find a place in Eumundi, about an hour and half's drive north of Brisbane in Queensland. We have the best of both world's by living here, we enjoy a semi-rural very peaceful lifestyle surrounded by paddocks, horses, cows, ducks, chickens and every bird you could name! But being  a beach-lover as well as a nature-lover I wanted to be closer to a beach again (Brisbane has no beaches, only a Bay and the River) and Eumundi is only a 25 minutes drive to Noosa Main Beach or Peregian Beach. Success!

For years, both my husband and I have created and built things together at home but living here has inspired us both to become more creative and more intent on building a sustainable business. One that we can build and grow together at our own pace while still having time to do the many renovations and improvements that we want to do around our property.

So The Eumundi Trading Co was born - an online retail business where I could share my love of modern farmhouse stye living with others. With those who share a love of making our houses a home, farmhouse style no matter where you live or the view out the window!

Through The Eumundi Trading Co and the Australian Farmhouse Kitchen & Living Series I've started sharing practical advice and practical inspiration on farmhouse living, cottage gardens, kitchen gardens, traditional homemaking skills, farmhouse kitchens, slow living and creating homes that feel lived in, loved and deeply personal. All based on my own day to day life experiences living here in Eumundi and what I learn on Tik Tok... haha!
