Eumundi is nestled in the green hills of Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland and how I like to explain it to friends ' behind Noosa'. lol.

For those who are familiar with the Sunshine Coast & the Hinterland, Eumundi is one of Australia's most loved country towns and it's not about the markets. As soon as you turn the corner into Memorial Drive and see the old Bakery Building and the impressively renovated Imperial Hotel it's easy to understand why it's so loved.

Mostly known for its famous markets as a local you get to connect with and live within the creative community, beautiful scenery and relaxed village atmosphere. Eumundi attracts visitors from across Australia and around the world seeking a taste of authentic country Queensland, which is why we chose the name 'The Eumundi Trading Co'.

Eumundi is located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, approximately:

  • 20 minutes from Noosa
  • 30 minutes from Maroochydore
  • 90 minutes north of Brisbane

Surrounded by lush countryside, farms and forests, Eumundi provides the perfect escape from the busy pace of city life while remaining close to some of Queensland's most popular coastal destinations.

Eumundi is best known for the world-famous Eumundi Markets.

Established in 1979, the markets have grown into one of Australia's premier artisan and maker markets, attracting visitors every week.

A Town Rich in History

Long before Eumundi became a tourist destination, it was a thriving timber and agricultural settlement. The town developed in the late 1800s following the arrival of the railway and became an important centre for dairy farming, timber harvesting and rural industry.Today, many of the original heritage buildings remain, helping preserve the town's distinctive character and connection to its past.

Walking through Eumundi, visitors can still experience the charm of a traditional Queensland country town, it's one of our favourite things to do.

  • Visit the Eumundi Markets - The markets remain the town's biggest attraction and are a must-see for first-time visitors.
  • Explore Local Art Galleries and stop in at the Eumundi Museum.
  • Enjoy lunch at the Imperial Hotel finished with a coffee a Tolly's
  • Finish with a Gelato at Lorenzo's and a stroll through the shops along Memorial Drive.

The surrounding region is home to scenic drives, walking trails, lookouts and beautiful countryside that showcase the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Drive out to Kenilworth and have morning tea at the Kenilworth Dairy and pick up some of their fabulous cheeses, yoghurts, choc mousse and gourmet goodies. 

Walk over the road and grab a pie and a donut from Kenilworth Bakery or if you're game try their Donut Challenge!
